Setting up automated Job Queues for idle printers

The SoLoPrint Dashboard Queue A modern 3D farm runs 24/7. SoLoPrint's Job Queue is designed for high-availability scheduling. Accessing the Queue Click the Queue sidebar item. The Queue is a global list of all sliced jobs waiting for allocation. When a specific printer attached to your Bridge completes its current print, SoLoPrint's backend automatically flags the machine as Idle. If you have auto-dispatch enabled, the next compatible job in your Queue will instantly be assigned to that Idle machine.

How the Smart Dispatcher matches jobs to correct nozzle sizes and materials

Avoid Catastrophic Hardware Conflicts If you slice a model assuming a 0.6mm nozzle and PETG temperatures, printing it on a 0.4mm equipped machine running PLA will clog the hotend or result in terrible quality. Intelligence at the Core The SoLoPrint Smart Dispatcher sits between the Queue and your printers. It reads the metadata inside the queued G-Code (specifically the filament requirements calculated by our Cloud Slicer). When an idle printer becomes available, the Dispatcher queries its currently Assigned Spool and its registered hardware Nozzle Diameter. The Result If the job requires PETG and the machine is loaded with PLA, the Dispatcher skips that printer. It only pushes the job if there is a 100% material and hardware match, saving you hours of frustration.

Pausing, canceling, or reordering jobs in the active queue

Manual Overrides While automation is excellent, human intervention is often necessary. Modifying the List - Drag and Drop Priority: In the Queue view, click and hold any pending job row. Drag it to the top of the list to force the Smart Dispatcher to prioritize it next. - Pausing a Job: If a print requires a specific color you ran out of, click the Pause icon next to the job in the queue. It will turn gray and remain sidelined while other jobs pass it by. - Direct Force-Print: Click a pending job, then manually assign it using a dropdown to any specific hardware in your fleet, regardless of automatic queueing logic.

Tracking historical print data, success rates, and total print hours

Comprehensive Analytics SoLoPrint doesn't just slice; it aggregates every telemetry snippet from your Bridge nodes indefinitely. The Dashboard View Navigate to Statistics / History. Here you will see: - Total Fleet Print Hours: Aggregated across all nodes. - Filament Expended: The total kilos mapped by Filament Intelligence. - Success/Failure Ratios: If you manually abort a print or an AI Spaghetti detector triggers, SoLoPrint flags the job as Failed. These metrics help businesses analyze exactly which specific 3D printers require maintenance.

Fully Autonomous Manufacturing The goal of a print farm is "Lights Out Manufacturing." The Final Hurdle The only manual step left is physically removing the completed object from the build plate. We are actively developing the Auto-Eject Macro Integration. When enabled, SoLoPrint will append a highly customized, robust macro payload (e.g., waiting for the bed to drop to 30°C, engaging the Y axis ram movement, and sweeping the part into a catch bin). Once the bed is clear, the Smart Dispatcher will read the success telemetry and immediately fire the next job from the queue down to the printer.
